Responsibilities:
Adams Street Partners seeks to recruit an accomplished business development professional to focus on the firm’s fundraising and client service activities in Asia, with a primary focus on Greater China. This role will join the Investor Relations team, based in Hong Kong.
This individual will be instrumental in expanding and diversifying the firm’s investor base in the region, while providing core account management support to prospective and existing clients across Asia, who have committed a total of $17 billion. This individual will work closely with the Investor Relations, Marketing, Product Strategy, and Investment teams and will be responsible for conducting research, managing and analyzing data, and coordinating the execution of appropriate follow-up activities.
A comprehensive understanding of the regional investor base, strong knowledge across alternative investment products, and excellent sales and relationship management skills are required.
Specifically, this individual will be involved and responsible for:
- Strengthening the delivery of a systematic Asia business development strategy, generating new revenue initiatives through disciplined prospecting and pipeline management.
- Develop, broaden, and maintain long-term relationships with institutional, private wealth, and private bank investors, financial institutions, and other market participants.
- Represent Adams Street’s full product platform, educating clients and prospects on portfolio construction opportunities and appropriate strategy inclusion.
- Build and manage a qualified investor pipeline through proactive conversion of prospects into committed mandates, leveraging core and customized product solutions.
- Manage the full client lifecycle, including due diligence processes, annual subscription and closing cycles, investor reporting coordination, and ongoing client servicing.
- Serve as a consultative advisor to clients on portfolio construction, rebalancing, and private equity program development, leveraging the global IR/client service platform as appropriate.
- Structure and deliver effective investor presentations and thought leadership initiatives, including conferences, white papers, and spokesperson engagements to strengthen the Adams Street brand.
- Partner closely with Product Strategy, Investment Strategy, and investment teams to ensure coordinated product distribution and alignment with firm growth objectives.
Qualifications:
- Strong academic credentials required; advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
- Demonstrated track record in sales and account management within a professional services environment, preferably in investment management.
- High-energy, entrepreneurial business developer with a strategic mindset, strong results orientation, and the ability to operate independently.
- Deep knowledge of private markets and the institutional, private wealth, and banking investor landscape, with a commitment to staying current on industry and investor relations trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex alternative investment strategies clearly and persuasively, synthesize technical information, and produce high-quality client-facing materials.
- Strong project management discipline with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, multitask, and execute under deadline pressure.
- High proficiency in CRM and proprietary database systems (ideally Salesforce) and expert command of the MS Office Suite.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin preferred.
