Venture Director (Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Part-time Venture Director (25–50% time commitment) with multi-stage (venture and early growth) investing experience and a proven track record in the GCC region. The ideal candidate has direct sourcing experience, conducting due diligence, winning competitive deals, serving on boards, and building strong networks with founders, corporate CEOs, business families, and government officials.
Primary responsibilities will be deal sourcing, conducting due diligence, researching markets, and evaluating deals across the region. The individual will work across a wide variety of Consumer Enablement and Fintech opportunities as well, having exposure to industry verticals such as healthcare IT, and real estate/logistics. We will expect maturity, flexibility, a willingness to learn, and proven record of taking ideas and quickly turning them into action. Team player mentality, in support of the partnership, will be a core component of the role.
Role/Title will be commensurate with working experience, and the person will be working closely with senior investment team members in the region.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Market Outreach and Market Research
- Establish relationships with founders and create a deep network of start-up & venture capital professionals
- Develop investment theses with partnership. Our Senior Associates and Principals are closest to the markets and drive large pieces of our investment blueprint.
- Support new investment opportunities based on investment themes and research.
Deal sourcing and evaluation
- Proactively source deals in market through an established network.
- Evaluate and assess the viability of investment materials we receive from potential companies.
Deal process
- Lead diligence on investment opportunities and deal processes (e.g. deal memo drafting, financial and analytics modelling, market analysis, testing products and generating industry landscapes).
Other
- Desire to lend a hand on various projects will be needed, as we will be innovating on our approach externally and ideas internally.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7-10+ years of relevant work experience is strongly preferred (e.g., top-tier venture firm, investment bank, operating experience either at a technology company or early-stage, venture funded business, or equivalent).
- Has a proven track record of sourcing, conducting diligence, and closing investment opportunities
- Board or observer seat experience strongly preferred
- Passion for venture and early-growth (Series A-C) disruptive technology.
- While GCC experience is essential, a bonus would be prior investment exposure in other regions such as Asia or beyond
- The individual will be required to commit 25–50% working with our senior global partners in B Capital
- Prior VC investing experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and business writing capabilities.
- Ability to interact with founders, corporate CEOs, key business families and government officials
- Entrepreneurial spirit to help us shape new portfolio investments and our own company.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
