POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for an Early Career Research Analyst to contribute to the research projects of BDC’s Research and Market Intelligence team. These projects primarily target Canadian entrepreneurs and BDC employees. The Research Analyst supports senior analysts on the Research and Market Intelligence team in the execution of marketing research projects, primarily quantitative. The Research Analyst contributes to the operational management of projects, survey programming and quality control, data processing and validation, as well as the production of reliable and well-structured reports and presentations.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Participate in research projects led by senior analysts and specialists, including:

  • Verifying, translating, scheduling and testing survey questionnaires.

  • Performing statistical analysis and cleaning of survey data based on an established plan.

  • Validating the accuracy of the data, tables and figures used in the reports.

  • Creating and maintaining report and presentation templates.

  • Perform project-related tasks for the team.

  • Collaborate effectively and continuously with other members of the Research and Market Intelligence team and stay abreast of methods used in marketing research, particularly those related to artificial intelligence.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Training in social sciences, marketing research or a related field. Diploma of Collegial Studies in Social Research (Technical DEC) is an asset.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar position, for example, a research position where surveys are used as a data collection method and where the individual has performed the tasks listed above or similar tasks.

  • Experience in a marketing research firm is a great asset.

  • Experience in research with SMEs an asset. Curiosity and a strong interest in the business community and economic news are required.

  • Excellent analytical skills, a high level of rigor and strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively.

  • Strong synthesis skills, especially for visual presentation in PowerPoint.

  • Very good organizational, planning and priority management skills. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Word (Microsoft Office); Copilot 365 and Power BI are an asset.

  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills; essential proficiency in SPSS or R (Q Software, an asset).

  • Bilingualism French / English required, both oral and written. Strong written communication skills.
