Forgepoint Capital is a multi-stage venture capital firm that invests in transformative companies protecting the digital future. Founded in 2015, Forgepoint manages $1B+ across multiple funds and partners with exceptional entrepreneurs in cybersecurity, AI and infrastructure software.
We are looking for a paid Summer Associate to join us for 10-12 weeks this summer in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for a highly motivated intern to support our investment team, with a specific focus on technology assessment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong technical background—often at the Master’s or PhD level—who is passionate about innovation and venture investing.
The ideal candidate can learn quickly, solve expected and unexpected challenges, and has a strong interest in cybersecurity and supporting entrepreneurs who build transformative companies.
Key Qualifications:
- Excellent writing, communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Strong ability to evaluate and articulate investment theses, market dynamics, and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated experience conducting deep technical analysis (e.g., evaluating product architecture, security, scalability, or tech stack suitability)
- Ability to distill complex technical topics for a non-technical audience, including memo and presentation preparation
- Familiarity with areas such as software infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI/ML, or cloud computing
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of ownership and self-motivation
- Team-oriented with exceptional work ethic and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Passion for investing, innovation, and the startup ecosystem
Preferred Background:
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, or a related technical field
- Or alternatively either pursuing or holding an MBA
- Minimum 3 years of full-time work experience
- Experience in startups, product development, or technical research is a strong plus
- Prior exposure to venture capital, entrepreneurship, or corporate innovation roles is helpful but not required
