Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President or Executive Director to join our dynamic M&A Investment Banking team in Sydney. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high-profile transactions, drive origination and execution, and play a key role in the growth of a leading financial institution. As part of a large, collaborative team, you will be involved in executing transactions and frequent client interactions, representing the firm in the Australian market and helping to expand our M&A franchise. The role offers a clear path to senior leadership, with significant responsibility for both origination and execution of transactions across all sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver strategic content for client meetings focused on M&A transactions.
- Drive origination and execution of M&A transactions, working closely with senior stakeholders and client management teams.
- Lead, guide, and review detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses.
- Oversee combination and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions and pitch situations.
- Demonstrate strong commercial judgement in evaluating opportunities and risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders across the business.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to Associates and Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Participate in graduate recruiting and talent development initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities and help shape the future of ourInvestment Banking business in Sydney.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a front office investment banking role, with a focus on M&A.
- Well-rounded academic background from a top-tier educational institution.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of the transaction cycle and execution process.
- Proven ability to work independently, self-directed, and highly motivated.
- Impeccable communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior stakeholders and clients.
- Demonstrated commercial judgement and strategic thinking.
- Track record of driving origination and successful execution of transactions.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
