As a Analyst in Capital Reporting team, you will lead the preparation, review, and submission of regulatory capital and large exposure returns for key UK and EMEA entities. You will interpret regulatory requirements, drive process and technology enhancements, and partner with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting. This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic projects, strengthen controls, and support business initiatives across the region. The current opening is within GF&BM CIB Controllers in Mumbai, which is part of the CIB Line of Business (LOB) within GF&BM India.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end process for capital adequacy and large exposure reporting, ensuring compliance with PRA/ECB regulations for multiple legal entities and consolidation groups.
- Interpret and implement regulatory rules, providing guidance and credible challenge to the business and finance teams.
- Lead and deliver on projects impacting capital reporting, including process automation, data quality, and technology enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support regulatory initiatives (e.g., ICAAP, recovery and resolution) and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong governance, controls, and documentation standards, including review and sign-off of regulatory returns.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and high performance.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- 2+ years of experience in regulatory capital reporting, with strong knowledge of capital concepts and regulatory frameworks (PRA/ECB/CRR).
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Proven ability to manage teams and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with experience partnering across functions.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other reporting tools; experience with automation and process improvement.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Chartered Accountant/MBA
- Experience with investment banking products (derivatives, equities, debt securities).
- Hands-on exposure to automation and analytics platforms (e.g., Python, Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks).-
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and adapt to regulatory change.
- Strong Problem Solving, Business Acumen, Assessment and Constructive Debate skills, and preferred understanding of Balance Sheet, Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Policy and Regulation.
