Build your front office trading career by supporting senior traders in a fast-paced trading floor environment.
You will help deliver timely market insights and accurate product information to institutional clients, while developing strong product, risk, and execution skills.
This role offers hands-on exposure to trading workflows, market dynamics, and collaboration across teams on the desk.

As a Currencies & Emerging Markets Trading Assistant, you will support institutional client coverage and market making by helping senior traders manage risk, liquidity, and exposure.
You will contribute to pre-trade analysis, inbound and outbound trade processing, and post-trade accuracy and controls. You will track supply and demand and monitor market developments to help provide clients with accurate, timely product information and perspective. You will develop your understanding of market drivers, market moves, and cross-asset implications, while balancing revenue outcomes with building a client franchise.

Job responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day client requests and needs.
  • Coordinate communication to ensure relevant partners are kept informed of key developments.
  • Monitor market drivers, market moves, and cross-asset implications to inform trading desk activity and client conversations.
  • Assist senior traders in managing risk, liquidity, and exposure across the desk’s product coverage.
  • Perform pre-trade analysis and support the design of risk management approaches for larger trades.
  • Process inbound and outbound trades and support end-to-end execution workflows.
  • Track supply and demand dynamics and evaluate market developments to support accurate product information for clients.
  • Resolve profit and loss reconciliation issues and investigate breaks independently when they arise.
  • Ensure post-trade entries are accurate and follow internal controls.
  • Apply applicable legal, regulatory, and internal risk management policies in day-to-day activities.
  • Contribute ideas and share knowledge that help the team succeed.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum 1 years experience in relevant banking or financial industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in global financial markets and understanding of global market processes.
  • Ability to explain fundamental and technical aspects of traded products and related support functions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages verbally and in writing and defend the validity of ideas.
  • Demonstrable proficiency with market and product terminology.
  • Understanding of product pricing, models, and quantitative frameworks relevant to the desk’s products.
  • Understanding of the transaction lifecycle, including direct costs of execution and post-trade steps, with a strong execution mindset.
  • Understanding of different risk types and approaches to managing risk, and ability to anticipate market movements.
  • Ability to perform under competitive pressure while staying focused on client needs and interacting comfortably with clients and management.

  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Strong analytical mindset and passion for problem solving.
  • Prior exposure to trading (advantageous, not required).
