As a Loan Origination Associate II within APAC Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) Middle Office, you will support the end-to-end loan lifecycle with a focus on seamless transaction closings. You will coordinate syndicated loan transactions and support primary and secondary loan trading, partnering with internal teams and external counterparties to ensure accurate documentation, compliance with credit/asset conditions, strong operational controls, and high-quality client service.
Job responsibilities
- Provide domain-led coordination across the syndicated loan lifecycle (origination/agency/trading), ensuring smooth execution across complex structures and primary/secondary activity.
- Own client experience outcomes through proactive communication, clear expectations, and consistent delivery across closing and post-close support.
- Review APLMA/LMA/LSTA documentation, translating documentation intent into executable operational requirements.
- Identify and challenge non-standard terms early, partnering with deal teams to assess implications and drive practical, client-aligned resolutions.
- Ensure credit and asset conditions are met, surfacing exceptions with clear impact assessments and actionable resolution paths.
- Lead Conditions Precedent readiness and closing governance with counsel and deal teams, driving completeness and controlled execution to close.
- Protect confidentiality and trust in information sharing by managing NDAs and controlling information flow with discretion.
- Coordinate internal readiness (credit and booking systems) by ensuring set-up accurately reflects deal economics/terms and supports execution needs.
- Resolve documentation and execution discrepancies through stakeholder leadership across Sales, RMs, Underwriters, clients, and counterparties.
- Drive continuous improvement with a client-and-controls lens, implementing enhancements that improve quality, efficiency, and risk outcomes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a financial institution, including 2 years in loan origination and/or loan documentation/middle office.
- Strong client service and stakeholder partnership skills with internal and external parties.
- Strong prioritization and organization to manage multiple concurrent transactions/projects.
- Strong risk and controls mindset with high attention to detail; able to identify breaks and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Structured problem-solving: diagnose root cause, assess impact, propose solutions, and escalate appropriately using sound judgment.
- Comfortable producing/interpreting quantitative reports to track performance and support planning.
- Continuous improvement and change delivery: drive process enhancements and support change initiatives; coach/enable peers through knowledge sharing and standards reinforcement.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics tools.
- Experience with Loan IQ or similar loan servicing/trading platforms.
- Business-level Japanese (JLPT N1) is a plus as this role will work with Japan key clients
