The Director, based in Sydney, will work as part of the Asia Pacific real estate team focusing primarily on Asset Management, with exposure to development execution and support investment activities. Key responsibilities will include identifying, evaluating and executing asset management performance and enhancement strategies. The role will cover as needed, the evaluation and execution of real estate investment opportunities and development initiatives. The Director will be supported by the regional team and will work with a range of functions within the global Oxford and OMERS network including Legal, Tax and Finance.
The Role
Leading identification and implementation of asset management initiatives
Leading annual asset business plan creation outlining key asset management initiatives
Identification, appraisal and implementation of re-development, reconfiguration or refurbishment initiatives
Evaluating technical and environmental considerations for new investment opportunities that meet Oxford’s APAC strategy
Leading the execution of multiple projects simultaneously, including overseeing financial analysis and internal memo preparation, presenting at Oxford investment committees, negotiating transaction / leasing documents and/or overseeing due diligence
Building and utilizing a comprehensive network in the APAC real estate market
Managing relationships with key partners in the market
Working with internal teams across Oxford and with local partners to undertake investment or asset management initiatives
Ability to work well within a small team, coordinating directly with senior team members and external advisors and partners, and managing junior team members
The Person
Strong interest in real estate with minimum 8-9 years in asset management, development and/or investment
Strong client-side Asset Management experience ideally with a focus on external partnership execution
Ideally demonstrates experience in leading a project across the development lifecycle from feasibility, design, planning, procurement, construction, leasing and post-completion activities through to successful operation
Strong technical knowledge and experience of valuations and other desired functions including property management and leasing
Strong analytical and technical skills
Proficient in Microsoft excel and PowerPoint, with experience in financial modelling, presentation preparation, transaction management, commercial negotiations, strategy preparation
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to interact with external advisors and peers
Possesses / able to develop industry network and represent Oxford in the APAC market
Team player; fast learner; self-starter; diligent, able to take initiative and work in a dynamic environment; professional and positive attitude
