The Associate Designer, Global Communications will support OMERS communications and marketing initiatives by creating high-quality visual content that aligns with the corporate brand. This role combines creative design, data visualization, and project management to deliver impactful materials across multiple channels. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Visual Production:

  • Create visual assets for presentations, digital screens, signage, posters, and campaigns that reflect OMERS brand identity and communication goals.
  • Apply principles of typography, layout, and composition to produce polished designs with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with design team to ideate, develop, and execute creative concepts.

Data Visualization & Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual data and analytics reports with clear, visually engaging layouts.
  • Transform complex information into easy-to-understand visual formats that support decision-making and storytelling

Template Development &Brand Consistency:

  • Develop branded templates to enable consistent, on-brand design by non-designers across different geographies and business units (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
  • Ensure all visual materials align with OMERS brand guidelines and elevate the organization’s visual identity.

Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Manage multiple projects efficiently and balancing priorities
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication following project management principles
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure design solutions meet business needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design or related discipline
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, Adobe Express
  • Experience working with motion graphics and Canva templates.
  • Strong foundation in typography, layout, and visual composition.
  • Basic understanding of data visualization principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables. ​
