We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Rates group under the Global Multi-Asset Strategies (GMAS) team in Toronto. This role represents a unique and exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a team as an associate PM that invests across a broad global mix of equities, bonds, credit, and commodities in both the cash and derivative markets. The GMAS team employs a holistic approach to its alpha-generating strategies, applying both quantitative and fundamental techniques.
This role will be responsible for supporting the portfolio management of the fixed income assets, which include nominal and inflation-linked bonds, and absolute return strategies, which seeks to deliver consistent alpha over long-term. Additional responsibilities include the build-out of a suite of tools for analytics and portfolio management, investment research efforts, and idea generation. This role will have the ability to provide key investment inputs to our strategy as well as grow their learning and career in fixed income asset management.
To be a senior candidate, you’ll need a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience, be passionate about fixed income investing, have an insatiable curiosity to learn, and a strong sense of teamwork.
Your skills and experiences include:
- 4-6 years of relevant investment experience in rates
- Strong academic background preferably in the field of Finance, Statistics, or Economics
- Highly analytical mindset and a curiosity to learn more about fixed income markets
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn advanced investment software packages (e.g. Python, C#)
- Some database management experience (e.g. SQL)
- Well organized with an excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn more and deliver positive results
- Having a demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and understanding the importance of a well-functioning team to be successful
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

The expected salary range for this position is $140,000-$170,000 per year.
