We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join our Legal & Compliance team in Toronto. Reporting to the Director, Legal & Compliance, you will join the Compliance & Ethics group to coordinate the policy and compliance function at OMERS Private Equity and OMERS Private Capital and provide transaction support to lawyers and investment deal teams.


As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

Transaction Support:
• Providing transaction support to investment/deal teams, including Anti-Terrorist Financing and Money Laundering diligence, Anti-Bribery and Corruption assessments and monitoring


Compliance Monitoring:
• Supporting the compliance monitoring program with particular focus on the Private Equity business unit
• Supporting the regulated entities’ compliance program
• Supporting the Director, Legal & Compliance and VP, Legal and Compliance
• Supporting the compliance training program


Reporting:
• Providing reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the board and senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.


Policy Review and Management:
• Supporting and coordinating the development, review and administration of policies and procedures including liaising with policy owners in the Business, Finance, Legal, HR and IT groups
• Supporting and participating in the development of enterprise-wide policies for OMERS as it expands its global footprint

Required Skills & Experience:


Regulatory Compliance & Technical Expertise: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance or a related function. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze data and create meaningful reports and insights. Intermediate proficiency with SharePoint, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.


Analysis & Problem Solving: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess information and identify practical solutions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.


Organization & Execution: Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and accountability.


Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, adaptable approach.


Preferred Skills & Experience:


Compliance, Legal & Transactional Experience: Legal and/or compliance background. Experience supporting transactions or transaction-related compliance matters.

Data Visualization & Reporting: Experience using Power BI or other data visualization and reporting platforms.

The expected salary range for this position is $86,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year.
